The artworks featured in this gallery have been taken from the 'Hummingbird Lives' exhibition held in 2005. Some newer hummingbird works are also featured, at the top of the page.

Each hummingbird image is an original oil painting and has been created by hand using a variety of very small brushes, they are not prints.

A percentage of the purchase price (30% to 50%) from every artwork bought here will also be donated towards much needed M.E. advocacy. Donations will be split between the HFME and the Nightingale Research Foundation.

*Please note that the slightly 'off' angles and distortions in some images denotes only that they have protruding elements which meant that they could not be laid flat when scanned. The scans also don't really do any of the artworks justice - they look much better in real life - the scans just don't pick up the delicate textures of the individual feathers painted on the birds chests etc. for some reason.

Series Three, number 1

Our quiet little group

15 x 23-29 x 15cm, Oil on board/perspex with screws and thread.

Artists note: [I think this piece is my favourite of the entire exhibition (equal favourite with the 3rd cube in this series anyway) I was so pleased with the way it turned out and I have no idea why it hasn't yet sold! A few people have told me that they see it as a depressing piece as the birds are 'caged' but this was not my intention, in fact the cubes are supposed to be expressing different moments and types of joy!

The cube form was intended to be merely a 3 dimensional version of the small paintings - not a cage! They are in fact the most positively themed pieces in the entire exhibition].
